Science Fair -by Ruthie

I have wonderful news! Hannah is doing a science fair for us. This will be a great opportunity to show everyone how much I love science. I need some suggestions though. Nothing too hard or too big. This project will be displayed on a regular sized piece of paper. Kit and Chrissa also can't think of anything. Chrissa will come up with something. She is always researching and reading. So do you have any ideas?

  1. Sounds like fun! How about: something with apples rotting, popcorn popping, the growth of plants, which soda frizzes the most, a cold soda or a hot soda
I did this project a few years ago and it was so much fun finding the results: which brand of gum has the longest lasting flavor? Get about 5 different brands of gum and record how long the flavor lasted for each one.

  2. Thank you for the project ideas and not suggesting anything that involves reading (I can't stand it). -Ruthie Smithens

  3. do the classic volcano... but take it to the next level! use a water bottle and cover it in paper mache'. then pait it brown and add rocks. make sure you put it on a cookie sheet before you blow it up. you cold make a little paper person and tape them to the side, or little papper houses on the base. then, add lots of baking soda, food coloring, vinigar, and watch the fun stuf happen! you can even make the lava different colors! then you could chart the destruction results on a 1-10 scale. you could time how long the eruption lasts, and compare it to real volcanos. you could even add a sparkler on top if you have any. just make sure you ask your parents! note: it's a good outdoor experiment! -corsicapeace
